
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most well-known role was Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series with the winner being announced in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has co-starred in the role of New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. In nine television movies based upon the Robert B. Parker novels Selleck played Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town chief of police, which began in 2005. Selleck also played the character of Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and A Little Lady(1990). From the time of Magnum, P.I., Selleck has been in more than 50 roles on television as well as in film, such as the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He was a frequent TV actor on the show playing Monica Geller's love interest, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the charming and unassuming spouse in The Rockford Files; and A.J., casino owner.
