Sofia Pernas was born in Morocco. She moved to California as a child. She grew up primarily living in Orange County. She received her graduation of the University of California, San Diego in the year 2015, which was when she also got her first big break as an actor. Pernas she had appeared in minor appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage before landing the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless as a well-known character on the soap opera. The relationship was announced just after Hartley's This Is Us star split from wife Chrishell Stause in November of 2019.
